I wanted to recognize the outstanding work completed by Clay and Cody and share my appreciation for the entire Simmons Painting team. Clay and Cody delivered an exceptionally professional, world-class paint job from start to finish. They took the time to work closely with me on paint selection and recommended exactly what was needed for our home. Their expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to quality were evident throughout the project. Cody and the team’s enthusiasm for their craft gave us confidence that we had made the right choice in selecting Simmons Painting. That confidence was fully validated by the finished result. The transformation exceeded our expectations, and we could not be happier with the outcome. The quality of the work has been noticed by everyone who sees it. We are truly the envy of the neighborhood. Thank you for a job exceptionally well done.Posted on Google

Michael Simmons42 days ago(My last name is also Simmons but as far as I know we are not directly related) We hired Simmons Painting to (1) paint the exterior of our home, (2) Paint / varnish wood decking on our dock and back porch, (3) Repair a shed and well pumphouse that had much rotted wood and paint these structures, (4) Paint back and front patio cement floors (5) Pressure wash all areas to be painted. This company is VERY committed to delivering quality products and services that are what the customer really wants. After we had chosen colors for our home, Clay Simmons came over and painted sample areas so we could see what our color choices would really look like on the house and trim areas. The work performed was outstanding and with great attention to detail. All areas they worked on looked like a new home including our gutters and carport. The work was very neat and we had no cleanup to worry about afterward. The amount of experience Simmons Painting has was very much reflected in the manner we were advised on different options and choices for the work we wanted done. It was easy to make decisions. There is one final point I wanted to mention that really sold me on this company. When we talked with Clay Simmons about what we wanted done he participated creatively and with genuine interest about what we wanted.+3Posted on Google
Geoffrey Matthai48 days agoWe have had the good fortune to have had Simmons Painting work on several painting projects over the past few years. Going back several years, we purchased a residence outside of Dunnellon. This home required quite a bit of renovation. Simmons Painting did extensive work on the renovation including interior drywall texturing and painting both the interior and exterior of the residence. Simmons has since also stained both an outbuilding on the property and a dock. More recently, Simmons Painting has repainted the several of the interior rooms. They also repainted the exterior of the residence due to our requesting a color change. It goes to say that we have been extremely pleased with their work product and would not hesitate to recommend their company for any painting needs.Posted on Google
Jeff Stees91 days agoCody and clay are very professional. They painted the exterior of my house several years ago and the paint is holding up great, There is no peeling or fading. Their price was very reasonable and they did a great job painting my house.Posted on Google
Linda Hart92 days agoSimmons Painting painted the inside and outside of our house previously. Work with Clay Simmons and his crew was so easy and enjoyable and the results so good, I called him when we had roof damage and inside damage for a second time at the same location. I had tried without success to get a top roofer to fix It right and someone to tear out the damage inside the wall. Clay found both for me to follow up with and Simmons Painting repainted the inside and outside new repairs. It was a good opportunity to touch up inside the whole house and redo the covered swimming pool porch deck. This was all well coordinated with the other contractors, done beautifully and quickly with minimal invasiveness in our lives. He quoted a price for a day rate which was reasonable. It is now several years later and I called Clay Simmons again for help. He came out and saw a window had ants coming in. As a result, Clay, his son Cody and crew arrived and helped to stop the ants by updating the old external paint including the window that allowed ants to get in. Very reasonable cost so I went ahead and did additional external painting needed due to time to preserve the house. Clay personally took care of our entry door which faces the sun and is wood. Later Cody and crew returned to make the inside presentable if we decide to sell (on short notice} since my husband now has Alzheimer's. They did a lot of work to avoid extra costs and it will help the paint last. The woodwork is oil based and they did a wonderful job of matching the old paint to avoid repainting everything and techniques to blend in the old paint. They even found my old paint cans and the information on the colors even though formulations have changed in the meantime. Very professional techniques for blending old paint on the oil based woodwork as well as walls that had bashes. Cody even hid an annoying original master bedroom light switch that was moved and covered up when the house was built in 2005 before we bought it. Now you can't even see where that switch once was. Will likely need to call them in again and won't hesitate.Posted on Google

Kerri Davis320 days agoUpdating Review to add additional work we had done in Oct 2025 - We used Simmons Painting to put up new walls and ceiling in a bedroom where old pine paneling with termite damage was removed. They added drywall, textured the walls and ceiling, and painted the entire room, wood trim and ceiling. It turned out great - it's my new favorite room in the house! They also pressure washed the outside of our house which brightened it up. We will continue to be repeat customers and use Simmons Painting for all our painting, pressure washing and drywall needs. Superb job as always - 10 stars if I could! Original review from 2023: Simmons Painting painted the outside of our home and some rooms inside. They were professional, neat, courteous and great to work with. They put up samples, prepped/protected all areas and were meticulous in details. Manuela Salda627 days agoWe hired Simmons Painting to repaint the ENTIRE interior of our home. This was part of a larger project that also involved replacing all our floors. Clay and his team couldn’t have been better. They came in before AND after our floor team and worked long days to make sure our project was completed in the small window of time we had available. The whole crew was clean, efficient, and really careful with our furniture. They were even able to remove some giant mirrors and patch some drywall damage that we had from previous owners. Clay helped us find the exact color we wanted to achieve our vision. His team was always prompt, helpful, and friendly. They were total perfectionists in making sure they left our walls looking immaculate- like no one had ever lived there before. We already know we’re hiring them again in the future to paint and refinish our kitchen cabinets. Happy to support this family run business that does such great work!Posted on Google

Laura Ramcke866 days agoI hope this review helps anyone looking for an interior painter. We moved to Dunnellon Fl. 5 years ago. My walls desperately needed to be painted. It was the first of December and I really wanted to have the house done before Christmas, but thought at least get started. My husband, who is a penny pincher said he would do it. Lol...Are you kidding me, I needed a good job and I'm not waiting five years to have it finished. And he did agree. I didn't know anyone so I looked up online. I chose a painter by the best reviews. Simmons Painting had the best, so I called them. I am so glad I did. They did an excellent job. Clay helped me with choosing colors I liked. They showed up each day on time and work a full day. Cody even worked on Saturday sometimes because they really wanted to help me have it finished in time for Christmas. They finished the week before Christmas. We were so pleased with their work. Very professional. Reasonably priced. I can't say enough how great they are. We since decided to downsize and sell our house. The walls still look great five years later. They have also painted my mother's house and our new house we just bought. Thank you Clay. Thank you CodyPosted on Google

Duncan Mackie964 days agoOur home in RLE is cedar siding and just over 40 years old. It had not been treated or stained for about 17 years and the siding was in a neglected, rough condition. Clay Simmons came out and did an evaluation of the job. He was very thorough in explaining what was needed. Clay made several suggestions and arranged for needed repairs, pressure washing and color selections for the home and wrap around deck. Rosemarie Taylor1098 days ago10 Stars ! Clay, Cody & Seth Highly recommend this company. Their commitment to detail and the quality of their work is top notch. Very professional job and pleasant people to work with. They moved furniture & covered everything with tarps, taped off everything, painted our entire home inside – walls, doors, louvered doors, trim, baseboards, and even removed an entire wall of old wallpaper and retextured the wall for painting. They have an impressive work ethic. They worked around my remote work schedule and put everything back in each room just as it was prior to painting. Then they proceeded to power wash the entire outside of the house and lanai, even spraying on a clear coat prior to painting. They even painted the soffits and downspouts. Our home looks brand new. This is a company that goes the extra mile for you. We will most definitely use them again. Todd and Rosemarie Taylor 2023Posted on Google

Michelle Wanless1126 days agoAnybody that’s had to hire contractors in our county knows the struggle. Whether it be competence, cost, customer service in general or just showing up, the struggle is real. That being said we are so happy with Simmons!! The whole process, start to finish we knew we made the right call. Working with us on our exterior paint colors and having a real (educated) conversation about type and color made us feel confident in our final choice. They did such a good job masking everything off and then when that was finished masking the new areas to protect them. The metal awnings I’m sure weren’t so easy to work around but they did and it’s beautiful. We’ve been renovating, inside and out, an older manufactured home that the exterior had been ignored (by the original owner) for what seems like the 40 years since it was originally purchased. A cringe worthy process and after having to hire 2 companies per project (one to do the work and another to fix what the first company “fixed”) we were nervous, to say the least. But they have created a home that took us from hoping nobody saw us walking out of to one that we just stand and stare at the beautiful transformation. We so appreciate their commitment to their trade and to their customers. Thank you guys!! (Clay, Cody & Seth) Such a great job!!Posted on Google

If we need any more paint jobs, we will hire them again & definitely recommend them.Posted on Google
Gary Smith (Amres Lending)1607 days agoThese guys are excellent painters. Their fees were very affordable. What they did in one week inside the home would have taken me 10-weeks or more, and I never would have gotten it as perfect as they did! The time (and work) they saved me was incredible and easily worth the money. Additionally, I wasn't expecting my concrete driveway washed before they painted the outside of my home; they repaired my stucco, too – and sealed it! In fact, I wasn't really expecting them to power wash the soffit & fascia board either. They are quality painters that made the entire home inside and out look brand new. I liked them so much that I gave them a swimming pool with pump, filter, and power cord, a push mower, a riding mower, a grill, a playground/swing set, and a double electric recliner loveseat -- all for free -- because they really were that good! Thanks guys! I’ll see you on my next project in Dunnellon. ;-)Posted on Google

Jill Panciocco1824 days agoI wish I could give this company 10 stars! We have been in the construction industry for 30 years and have dealt with numerous painters in that time, Clay and his crew are by far the best painters we have used. The detail and level of workmanship is bar none. They restored our windows which were fade and weather beaten, when they were done they looked better than a new factory window. They also painted the outside of a house that was in rough shape when they were done it looked like a new home.Posted on Google

Marla Mann1964 days agoBLUF: Conscientious, courteous, high work quality and ethic. All I can say is these guys are fantastic. Simmons Painting Contractors were one of the top contractors I've ever worked with, and with military moves, I've dealt with a lot. I was referred by a neighbor (whose house was the best advertisement), and Clay took on my job, despite there being house issues. To top it off, they already had a full plate, vivid was messing with supplies and I was an out of town, soon to be absent, new homeowner. He was patient while I struggled with paint selection, and even had a line on a color coordinator. Things settled, I packed up leaving the project in their care. I had confidence that when Clay committed to it, he would make sure it was done right. I was kept informed of progress, and the quality of finished work is impeccable. Issues I didn't think could be overcome - were. Doors were patched, painted, one I swear they re-hung (because it now latches). Dog scratches, nicotine staining, closets, garage, cathedral ceilings, trim, everything - lots of angles and accents, executed beautifully. I know they had to work hard on this house and it shows. I couldn't believe it when I came back. In the winter I'm asking them back to do the outside. I recommend them without reservation.+1Posted on Google
Paul Petrone Sr2034 days agoClay Simmons is by far the best in the business. We were honored to have him and Cody and their helpers paint our House, Garage, Front Porch, Shutters and Pool Deck. If you can fit them in your schedule you can't go wrong and they are very reasonable in their price.Posted on Google
Kerry Carsley2046 days agoI needed to have my home painted inside and out. I had in my mind the color and what I wanted done. Clay came to my home and went over everything with me. He said he did not want me to be disappointed and recommended we go choose some colors, paint them on the walls and make a decision the next day and he was right. I am thankful that with his experience he knew I would not be happy with what I had chosen to do. Also, the prior owner had no less than 400 nail holes throughout the house. Clay and his crew did an amazing job inside and out repairing all the holes. This home looks like it was newly built and is 20 years old. I am grateful I chose Simmons Painting!Posted on Google

Jodi Orens2195 days agoClay and his crew painted my parents’ home in 2018 before we listed it for sale. He did the interior and exterior at a more than fair price with outstanding quality. I have no doubt his contribution to the updating of their home contributed to it being sold within one week of listing. I knew if I ever painted my own home I would be using Simmons Painting. Fast forward to this year and it was finally time to paint the exterior of my 35 year old home which I’ve been living in for 29 years. To say this home was distressed is to grossly understate the condition. Clay gave me an incredible price for all the needed work to restore my home’s exterior. His crew is professional, well qualified, on time and best of all pleasant to work with even making color suggestions to help with maintenance issues. They finished in a timely fashion and the results were well beyond my expectations. Laura Ramcke2487 days agoWe are new to the area and we were in desperate need of a painter. Our interior colors were dark and the paint job wasn't done well. I googled and found several painters in the area but one stood out above the rest. I read the impressive reviews people wrote about this company. I called the owner Clay Simmons and he stopped by that very day. I liked him immediately. He listened to my issues and helped me choose colors that I would like to brighten up the place. It was right before the holidays and I was hoping he could start soon. The very next day Clay and his team came in and got right to work. Everyone who works for this company is friendly, punctual, and hardworking. Absolutely amazing painters. I am so impressed. They got the job done in time for Christmas too. Both my husband and I are so pleased. Thank you so much Clay, Cody, Colby and Jim too.Posted on Google
Diana Sumners2518 days agoProfessionalism at it’s finest. Clay and his team did an amazing job on our house. It was a hodgepodge of colors from the last 20 plus years. He listened to what we wanted, helped us choose colors, and it turned out beautifully. He came to the house on off hours, willing to work around my work schedule. Everyday at the end of the day the job site was cleaned and not left in disarray. If you are looking for a quality reasonably priced painting professional who is meticulous about detail, Clay and his team are your guys.Posted on Google
Richard Kutz2567 days agoClay was very thorough and organized when inspecting and presenting his estimates. He brought over paint samples and patiently explained the process. The project was to remove wallpaper from 6 rooms and paint entire interior. Clay and his crew spent over 2.5 weeks on the job. The property was always left neat. Clay was always professional and courteous. We are delighted with how the house turned out. I would highly recommend Clay’s company. Thank you Clay!Posted on Google
Paul Helms2627 days agoSimmons Painting is a 30 year old family owned business with Father, Son and well mannered employees. Their work ethics passed down from Father to Son is exactly what you hoped it would be and the quality was perfect. We originally called them based on Google reviews and after meeting Mr. Simmons senior my wife and I felt comfortable in hiring them. He said it would take three days and it took three days. He said they would start Wednesday and they started Wednesday. You will absolutely be thrilled that you contacted them.Posted on Google

Cristina Bolivar2778 days agoWe hired Clay to paint our home, (3600 square feet), our barn and our detached garage; the house was in need of paint as the last time we had it painted was in 1997. When finished, our property looks like it was just built....then, we decided to paint themain area inside and once again we hired Clay and his crew....we cannot be more pleased....Clay is very experienced and professional; the crew he has cannot be more accommodating; always on time and best of all the clean up on a daily basis was very much appreciated; they were here for 2 1/2 weeks so you know it was a big job; in the barn, they even painted the wrought iron bars. If you are looking for a professional, first class painter, do not hesitate hiring Clay Simmons. By the way, we are doing remodeling of master bedroom bathroom and guess who we are hiring to paint...Clay Simmons.
